There Is Nothing Like a Dyson!

Or there wasn't until the entire vacuum cleaner industry in the US saw the writing on the wall and promptly copied it as best they could. The original has withstood the onslaught, however, since engineering is the key here and that is apparently how it still rules. Those wonderful clicks when the parts attach show how carefully the Dyson is constructed and promise a virtual lifetime of use (my upright is 6 years old, ordered from Conrans), and it is backed up by a grand telephone service staffed by people who can really answer any question you might have.
Mine fell over on its back as though it had taken a bullet and nothing would make it stand up. The phone service knew exactly what I had done (I hit a piece of furniture and dislodged a part),and the phone lady directed me to a perfect fix. The only complaint would be the fact that it is quite heavy but that's almost a wash since the cleaning power enables one to make very few passes to fully (and I mean fully) clean a rug. The joy of seeing carpets actually change color makes it all worthwhile. I mean, why make a lot of noise and go back and forth and back and forth, when you can be done in minutes and have a whole canister of dirt to show your accomplishment.
That's the Dyson experience and my dear old electrolux never came near it. I also enjoy the hand-held version for quick jobs and car mats but it is very expensive for 5 minutes which bothers a lot of people. But folks, it works just as well as the upright for tight-corner jobs. I really never knew how "not clean" my house was until Dyson came along. It's a wonderful product and worth every cent. Dyson had not invented the "ball" version when I got mine, and someday I will upgrade to that. Bliss.
