Move over Slinky It’s the Dyson DC 23 Stowaway

Who walks the stair without a care? Is it the Slinky? No, but everyone should know it’s the Dyson DC 23 Stowaway. For years I have fought with vacuum cleaners that fall down the stairs, fall apart or fall on me while I’m trying to wrestle them up the staircase.
Finally someone has designed a vacuum cleaner that not only understands stairs but also knows how to roll around chair legs and over cords and it doesn’t let the cord come flying out of the socket when you hit a snag – because it just doesn’t snag anymore. If stair mastery was the Dyson's only virtue it would still be enough to justify buying one but as you can see there is so much more. It seems silly to love your vacuum cleaner but even my unimpressed, usually reluctant to clean, teenagers noticed the difference: ‘hey Mom, that new vacuum actually works’, was the unexpected comment I got just this past weekend. And it is true. The battle with dust and feathers from our pet parrot is never ending but Dyson’s suction and anti-allergenic filters have very much changed our lives. My son’s allergies have improved and I will save money by not having my Persian carpets sent out for cleaning as often. You will not believe the amount of lint and dust this machine sucks up.
My only complaint against this machine is the little snap used to clean the clear plastic canister. It seems fragile and I worry that it may break. That said, the cleaning process is quite easy, socks and coins are actually retrievable, and you can see exactly what your machine picks up. I appreciate not having to buy bags, and given the overall excellence of design, I expect this machine will last much, much longer than the many vacuum cleaner models and brands we have bought in the past. Like the Slinky of my childhood this Dyson 23 is a classic.
