Miele S 5980 + SEB 217

When I walked into Radio shack and looked at the vacuum cleaners on display, I was quite confused as there were many to choose from. Having bought a Hoover in the past, I was more inclined to purchase another Hoover as I had no problems with them. I looked at the top to middle range models in the Hoover line up, but was also quite interested in a Miele that was similarly priced. I hadn't heard of them before, and sounded like an Italian brand. When i consulted the salesman, he eagerly recommended the Miele and informed me that it was in fact a German make. That sold me. The product looked great and was priced competitively. That two years ago, and I don't regret my choice at all...and judging from the Miele Vacuum reviews, a lot of people agree with me.. It is built like a BMW, the finish is flawless, doesn't feel like tacky plastic, the wheels are smooth but more importantly the suction and power is phenomenal. It isn't heavy either, its easy to manoeuvre around the house. The only problems associated with this particular model are that the bags can be quite expensive to buy. Having said that one bag tends to last quite a long time, so perhaps in the long run it is a saving. I didn't pay for extended warranty, as I was convinced by the look and feel that it was quite a durable product. I'll probably use this for a other 10 years at least before I need to get a new one.
