Hoover Wind Tunnel
We love our Hoover Wind Tunnel Upright Vacuum. But we also have a love-hate relationship with it as well. The Hoover U5468-900 Wind Tunnel Supreme Bagged Upright vacuum cleaner is our second Hoover in the family.
Some of the Pros: It’s a workhorse vacuum that is very sturdy and can take the bings and bangs of a big household well. We had another Hoover before this one and we had that one for at least ten years. I expect our current Hoover to last us at least 10 years as well. The suction on this sucker is great. I have hardly ever had to vacuum over an area twice. One swipe with the Hoover does the trick. It’s reasonably priced for its performance. Most brick and mortar stores carry a Hoover vacuum bag, so it’s pretty easy to find a replacement bag when you need it.
Some of the Cons: It is big and bulky, making it difficult, practically impossible to carry up the stairs and vacuum with. The rotating brush on the bottom always – always gets stuck on the fringes of our oriental rugs. If you don’t catch it quickly enough the rubber band that spins the brush will snap and you will have to buy a replacement. This happens to us about once every two months.
I also need to note that our vacuum was a refurbished model from a discount store, so I don’t know how much this would affect the performance of our current vacuum. But that being said – the comparison between our old Hoover which was not refurbished and the one we have now which is – is pretty much the same. It’s a good sturdy reliable vacuum that will last you a long time. Nothings perfect.
